At this very terribly depressing time, my sincere prayers and love goes out to you and your family. I was a friend of Dads, and so many memories of him and us always goes through my thoughts, from rides, to the City to the indian pow wow on labor day.... everytime i see his picture i cringe , but then i smile..... remembering.
At this terrible time for you i hope you get some comfort how much Dad is missed and was loved by his friends and the wonderful memories he left. He always talked about his boys. I will pray
and like you, am angry, very very angry at what has happened and Why? I truly hope that the punishment fits the crime.
But Dad's light will always shine and i will continue to wear his
gift to me proudly....and again I will smile.
Again, my prayers and light are with you all. Fondly & Sincerely, Deborah Cangemi, from Bellmore.

God gives strenght to those who need it most. Remember that he lives in each one of you forever, and that you should not dwell on the bad times, (even the worst), but rember him smiling, and helping, and joking. Love him today, as you did yesterday, and remember that OUR tomorrow, is not guaranteed either. Live everyday as if it were the last day. Love, love and love again. My heart goes out to the members of of Stan's family.

My heart breaks for all those families effected by this disgusting creature who has no regard for human life. My sister (just 26 yrs old)was killed by a drunk driver almost 26 years ago. I've never gotten over it. I have learned to live with it and I still miss her every day. The waste of life who killed her also had no regard for others. He was a second offenderand got away with murder, literally. His life continues and,I'm certain, never gives a thought to the lives he's ruined. I wish I had magic words to help all those effected by this dirtbag's actions. The court system will probably work in this case. However, it will never be enough justice for the families. I wish all of them the very best.

I met Stan when I started working at Cablevision back in 1988. Stan taught me a lot about how things worked and I knew I wanted to be an "area tech" as he was--he had the most interesting job in the company and he enjoyed it and was very good at it. Stan guided me when I became an area tech and we often fixed outages and worked on problems together if we had the chance. Stan was nice to everyone he met and everyone he worked with, even crazy Lorraine the dispatcher. Although I hadn't seen Stan in years, he was always a great guy and will be missed. "Base 09"- I can still hear him. My condolences and best wishes to his family, Tony Gigs.

Are there really people that are still unsure if driving drunk is a crime? Are we to believe that the defendant did not on any level understand the possible consequences of his actions?
The jury has an obligation to tough this out and render a verdict that will send the killer away for a long time. There can be no doubt that the driver knew he was unable to drive, yet did so. As a society we have an obligation to avenge the tragic loss of these two innocents. Returning with anything less than guilty on all charges is an obscenity. To the jury I say tough it out, and do your job. Do not fail Mr. Rabinowitz, Miss Flynn, or their tortured and shattered families. Failing to find him guilty sends a message that cannot be taken back. Drunks behind the wheel are no different than junkies with guns. Validate the loss of both families and send a strong, clear message to the rest that would put our families in such danger. This crime cannot go unpunished.

My heart breaks and goes out to everyone in the Rabinowitz family (as well as the Flynns) for what you all have gone through. Stanley looks like a kind, warm and loving father and husband who was taken from those he loved much too soon. Your video tribute to him is so very touching. The animal who did this should be locked away for life. I don't know how a jury could be conflicted. I've been following this story since it happened and it's touched me very deeply. I too grew up in Brooklyn and went to Sheepshead Bay (class of 91). It brings tears to my eyes that someone who was obviously so loved was taken in such a senseless cruel way. Just a note to say that we are thinking of you. If stanley death could stop just one person from drinking and driving, then his death will not be in vain. Although it will not bring Stanley back, justice has been served

May Stanley and Katie rest in peace....hopefully justice has been served, the moron who ended their lives should never be allowed into society again. When will our society get serious about drunk driving?? There should be no 2nd chances, drive drunk and lose your license for 10 years, and a huge fine/jail... no one has the right to end another person's life...if you want to kill yourself jump off a bridge. God Bless Stan and Katie, and their families. Zey Gezunt! Go in good health...and have a happy, and long life!

To the Rabinowitz Family and Friends.
Stanley, Katie and all of the victim's families and friends will always be in my prayers. What was done to all of you nice people on that early July morning in 2005 was a crime. Two people were robbed of thier lives. I was on the jury that returned the guilty verdict of murder in the second degree. Knowing that any verdict in the world could never bring back your loved ones, I hope that it can give you a little closure and hope that you can continue to move ahead. Meeting your family that night in Ms. Rice's office was something that I will never forget. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. God Bless....

I have followed this story as much as possible since the tragic and criminal event took place. I have also had the torture of dealing with the criminal justice in connection with my sister's death a decade ago. Words cannot convey the emotional toll of not only losing a loved one, but having to sit through the excruciating process of a criminal trial where the prosecution seemingly fights with one hand tied behind their back. The video tribute was very touching and I hope the great memories of Stan sustain you. Continue the fight for tougher DWI laws.

I have driven Meadowbrook many times. There is no way you don't know what side you are on, I don't care how drunk you are. This idiot got what he deserved and should not win any appeal. Nor should anyone else who drives drunk and kills an innocent person.
My prayers are with your family at this time of year. Supposedly a joyous time.
May you have great fortitude and triumph in the coming appeal process, and may you keep this monster, who also tried to subvert the legal system while in custody, behind bars for life.
He who takes a life, should not be allowed the privilage of living one in peace and happiness. Life in prison is justified in this matter.

I'm very touched and hurt over the tragic death of your loved. This is definitely an experience no one should have to endure. Remain strong, keep your heed up and remember, "Joy comes in the Morning." No, you will never forget the moment of hearing the tragic news, but reflect on the good times you've had with him and the reasons that you came to love him so dearly. Remember, it is the time between his birth and death that really matter. God bless you, hold strong and remember you will reunite with Stan again.

What a beautiful tribute to a man who was loved and who touched many lives. I was moved to tears. For I too am afflicted with the disease of alcoholism. I too have been behind the wheel impaired many times. I am proud to say I have been sober and in a 12 step recovery program for 2 years and 7 months now as I continue to learn more about the disease of addiction. It is important for all to remember that Stanley was a human being who crossed and affected many peoples lives. He had family and children who loved him. I can tell he was a good man. I am so sorry for your loss.

I, like so many others have driven impaired on occasion, and never really thought hard about the people I might actually kill.
